ELCAS - MoD Enhanced Learning Credits Scheme

Take advantage of ELCAS funding and develop your career in IT management.

IT Governance is an Approved Learning Provider for the MOD ELCAS scheme. We are uniquely positioned to provide currently serving and planned service leaver personnel in the MOD with training to effectively implement information security, business continuity, data privacy, IT governance, and service management standards and best-practice frameworks.

Our courses are particularly focused on the qualifications and skills required to implement and manage the requirements of the ISO 27001 information security standard, the ISO 22301 business continuity standard and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Delegates who pass the examinations associated with our training courses are awarded ISO 17024-certificated qualifications by the examination bodies, including IBITGQ, APMG International and EXIN.

What is ELCAS?

The ELCAS scheme is designed to assist MOD Service personnel with training that will enhance their current or future career. This assistance is in the form of an annual payment for up to three years.

All training courses must be delivered by an Approved Learning Provider and result in the award of a nationally-recognised qualification at Level 3 or above on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (England and Wales). Our IT Governace Training Provider Number is 3922.

If you are a serving member of the MOD, please see the ELCAS website for more information.

Why should MOD ELC claimants choose our training courses?

Unlike many other suppliers of information security, business continuity, data privacy and service management training, IT Governance focuses on providing a practical hands-on approach delivered by knowledgeable trainers and ensuring that delegates are awarded industry-standard certification.

Our training courses meet the needs of the following MOD staff:

  • Prospective service leavers (SL) who wish to receive practical training and gain qualifications to support a career in information security and business continuity management in the future. For service leavers with experience in information security (JSP 440) and IT audit, the Certified ISO 27001 ISMS Lead Auditor provides ideal practical training and certification to assist in the development of a career as an ISO 27001 Auditor.

  • Experienced staff with a strong background in information security and business continuity who wish to further develop their career by acquiring industry standard qualifications. The Certified ISO 27001 ISMS Lead Implementer course provides delegates with an in-depth and practical knowledge of the implementation of the ISO 27001 information security management standard.

  • Junior members of staff looking for awareness and introductory training. Relevant sessions include the Certified ISO 27001 ISMS Foundation and Certified GDPR Foundation (GDPR F) courses.
