Your new training centre

Designed for COVID-19-conscious attendee

The venue exceeds government guidance on social distancing measures and has been verified under the NQA COVID SECURE Guideline Verification Scheme. There is clear signage throughout, attendees are spaced at more than two metres apart, and upon arrival you’ll receive your own personal care pack comprising three face masks, hand sanitiser, wipes and gloves.

Ample space

Our training centre is larger than most venues at 170 m2/1,829 ft2. We are limiting the classroom size to 12 learners and 1 trainer per session, which equates to 13 m2/140 ft per person at full occupancy.

Large windows surround two sides of the building, providing a lot of light. Windows will be kept open during the course to ensure the free circulation of fresh air.

Risk-mitigating measure

We have conducted a thorough risk assessment against government guidelines. With staff fully trained on social distancing and hygiene measures, site rules in place, exclusive use of the centre, clear signage throughout and automatic hand-sanitisation facilities inside and out, you can rest assured that all measures have been taken to limit transmission and keep you safe.

Touchless environment

Automatic antibacterial dispensers are located throughout the premises, with automatic soap dispensers and taps in bathrooms and the canteen. Automatic facilities are four times more hygienic than traditional touch facilities.

Deep cleaning

Daily deep cleaning of the training centre ensures proper disinfection of all equipment, surfaces and key touchpoint areas.

Screening

At arrival, your temperature will be tested by a digital, hands-free, wall-mounted thermometer to ensure the safety of everyone in the room.

Freshly prepared, nutritious lunch

An individually packaged, sealed lunch can be enjoyed in our spacious canteen, where you can also help yourself to tea, coffee and other refreshments.

All food, PPE, cutlery, cups and mugs have been chosen for their disposability.

Your training, your way

Our “learn from anywhere” option allows you to attend a training course at our Ely centre either online or in person, bringing the classroom to online attendees and bringing online attendees into the classroom in order to drive engagement and interaction.

Although the COVID-19 situation is changing regularly, you can be confident in booking with IT Governance: if your circumstances change, you can opt to attend the classroom course as an online attendee (changes can be made up to one week in advance).

The benefits of training in Ely

Beautiful and tranquil Cathedral city

The ancient cathedral city of Ely is the third smallest city in England. As well as the magnificent cathedral, Ely offers a wealth of attractions. It is compact enough to explore on foot, with plenty to see and experience. Enjoy a stunning riverside walk, eat in one of the beautiful pubs and restaurants, visit one of the many museums, or explore Oliver Cromwell’s House. The perfect location for both training and relaxation.

Easy travel

Located 14 miles northeast of Cambridge and 80 miles from London, Ely is on the north–south A10 road from London to King's Lynn. Drive directly to Ely and enjoy free parking.

If you’re coming by train then the training centre is located just a five-minute walk from Ely train station, which has excellent rail links to Cambridge, London, Birmingham and Peterborough

Hotels

We work with popular local hotels to offer our attendees exclusive rates.

These include:

  • Poets House – Situated in the heart of Ely opposite the cathedral, this boutique hotel boasts a destination restaurant and a bar, along with free Wi-Fi.
  • Royal Standard – A very popular hotel, restaurant and public house. Now one of Ely’s favourite dining and meeting places with an extensive food menu and eclectic 60-bottle wine list.
  • The Lamb Hotel – Sitting in the shadows of Ely Cathedral, the Lamb Hotel dates back to the 15th century and retains its atmosphere as a thriving coaching inn.
