Prerequisites

Although there are no formal entry requirements for this training course, attendees are expected to have some existing knowledge information security concepts.

Exam information

Attendees take the BCS Foundation Certificate in Information Security Management Principles (CISMP). There is no extra charge for this exam.

The exam is delivered online and lasts 120 minutes.

Can exams be retaken?

Yes, if you are unsuccessful on the first attempt, you can retake the exam for an additional fee.

Qualifications

Those that pass the exam will earn the BCS Foundation Certificate in Information Security Management Principles (CISMP).

attended online, facilitator was good at providing real examples to help embed learning. Lots to cover if you are not from IT background, but gives a really good overview of Information Security

I enjoyed this course. It covered all the CISMP elements I was expecting. It included the cost of the BCS book and exam too. The instructor was engaging and covered some aspects in more detail than others (primarily exam related sections), using her own experience to make the syllabus interesting. My course was on-site at a dedicated training centre in Manchester, which was excellent. I would look to use IT Governance again.

The trainer was fantastic, very engaging and supportive. The course content was a little too techincal in some areas for me, but valuable non the less and will no doubt support the CISSP and CISM courses that I plan to do next. Absolutely worth doing if one is looking to enhance their knowledge from the ISO 27001 lead auditor and lead implementor courses.

A lot to cover over 5 days. I would encourage candidates to discuss with others and tutor to broaden understanding. A few more activities to liven things up would have achieved a 5 star rating
