Cyber Essentials Certification

This service is for organisations that have a high degree of knowledge of all five security controls and are comfortable carrying out all the preparations for certification themselves.


What's included?

  • Up to one hour* of consultancy support to help you with your submission.
  • Access to the IASME portal where you will submit your SAQ (self-assessment questionnaire).
  • Your Cyber Essentials certificate.
  • £25,000 free cyber insurance**.

How the application process works:

  • Your Cyber Essentials package will be automatically fulfilled on your account on our IT Governance Cyber Security Portal (CS Portal).
  • You log in to our CS Portal and confirm your details.
  • We send you access details for the IASME Cyber Essentials portal via email.
  • We contact you to arrange your consultancy support for any additional questions you may have.
  • You log on to the IASME portal where you will define your scope and complete the IASME SAQ using your knowledge of the scheme.
  • You confirm and submit your application on the IASME portal.
  • Subject to a positive outcome, we issue your Cyber Essentials certificate.

  • You are confident in defining the scope of your assessment encompassing the entire organisation;
  • You own and operate your entire scope of IT infrastructure;
  • You are familiar with the five key controls covered in the Cyber Essentials questionnaire and how to meet them; or
  • You have previously certified and are looking to renew and your scope has not changed.

Conditions

  • If you are not successful on your first submission for Cyber Essentials, you have two working days to submit a further attempt for certification.
  • If you are not successful on your second submission, you will need to purchase a new application and reapply.
  • If you subsequently apply for IASME Cyber Essentials Plus certification and are unsuccessful, your Cyber Essentials certification may be revoked.

All of our Cyber Essentials (and Cyber Essentials Plus) packages include the cost of Cyber Essentials certification, as set out by IASME. Any additional charges above the cost of Cyber Essentials certificate are for consultancy services. The level of consultancy services delivered will vary based on organisation size.

*The amount of consultancy support available depends on the size of your organisation and costs of your certification (set out by IASME).

**Optional free cyber insurance available to UK companies with a turnover of less than £20 million. This includes a 24-hour helpline to report a cyber incident, which will provide crisis management and incident response, with a total liability limit of £25,000.
