This five-day course combines our Certified Cyber Security Foundation (one day) and Practitioner (four day) programmes into one structured learning path.

The content is aligned with CyBOK v1.1– the NCSC-approved Cyber Security Body of Knowledge – which outlines the core knowledge areas for cyber professionals.

What equipment do I need?

You will need a laptop for the duration of your course and exams. Our course materials include an interactive PDF and an online quiz tool for knowledge testing. Full details on how to access each exam are provided by email 1–2 days before the exam dates.

Are there any prerequisites for this course?

There are no formal prerequisites, but we recommend having basic IT knowledge before attending.

Is there any recommended reading?

We suggest reading Information Security Management Principles – Third Edition before the course.

Exams and qualifications

Exams and CPD

You’ll take two ISO 17024-certificated exams:

  • Certified Cyber Security Foundation (C CS F)
  • Certified Cyber Security Practitioner (C CS P)

Each exam includes 40 multiple-choice questions and a pass mark of 65%.

There is no additional charge for either exam.

This course awards 35 CPD/CPE points.

Accreditation

  • IBITGQ (International Board for IT Governance Qualifications) – a certification body specialising in IT governance and information security qualifications
  • CIISec (The Chartered Institute of Information Security) – the UK’s chartered body for cyber and information security professionals

The course satisfies CIISec Knowledge Areas at:

  • Level 1: A2, A3, A4, A5, A6, B1, C3, D2, E1, F2, G1, G2, H1, H2
  • Level 2: B2, B3, H3

IBITGQ is accredited to ISO/IEC 17024:2012, the global standard for certifying individuals. This ensures your qualification is recognised and respected by employers worldwide.

You can also register your certification on the IBITGQ/GASQ candidate register, providing external validation of your expertise and commitment to cyber security best practice.

How will I receive my exam results and certificates?

Provisional exam results will be given immediately after completing the exams. Confirmed results will be issued within ten working days with your certificate(s) to your email address.

Do I need to bring proof of identity?

Candidates must bring a form of photographic ID with them as the invigilator may request to check it before the exam.

Can exams be retaken?

Yes. If you are unsuccessful on the first attempt, you can retake the exam for an additional fee. You can email us to schedule the retest.
