You can now buy a hardcopy of the TickITplus BPL Guidance from IT Governance. This guide explains the objectives and requirements of each process in the TickITplus Base Process Library (BPL). It details and provides guidance on how each practice within the processes should be implemented. This guide should, therefore, be read in conjunction with the BPL.
The heart of the TickITplus scheme comprises a process model called the Base Process Library – The BPL comprises a series of process definitions, around 40 in all, which are intended to unify the requirements of the most common certification standards into a single framework.
The BPL has been developed from the structures within ISO/IEC 12207 (Systems and software engineering – Software life cycle processes) and ISO/IEC 15288 (Systems and software engineering – System life cycle processes). It is heavily influenced by ISO/IEC 15504-4 (Information technology – Process assessment – Guidance on use for process improvement and process capability). However, the structure has been extensively re-modelled to accommodate the requirements of current certification standards.
