Achieve your CEH qualification with IT Governance

Our CEH course is led by information security professionals who practise what they teach.

Aside from holding the necessary professional credentials, our trainers bring up-to-date industry knowledge and experience to enhance IT Governance’s CEH course. Upon completion of the CEH training course, attendees have the knowledge to pass the CEH exam, and enter the industry with hands-on experience.

Our training course delivers a comprehensive education in the attack strategies, tactics, technology, tools and motivations of criminal hackers. We provide unique post-course support with online access to EC-Council iLabs for six months.

What is a CEH?

A CEH is a skilled professional who understands and knows how to look for weaknesses and vulnerabilities in target systems. They use the same knowledge and tools as a criminal hacker – but in a lawful and legitimate manner – to assess the security posture of a target system(s). The CEH credential certifies individuals in the specific network security discipline of ethical hacking from a vendor-neutral perspective.

The CEH qualification

Launched in 2003 by the EC-Council, the CEH qualification is globally recognised as the vendor-neutral qualification of choice for developing a senior career in penetration testing and digital forensics. The course:

  • Establishes and governs minimum standards for credentialling professional information security specialists in ethical hacking measures;
  • Informs the public that credentialled individuals meet or exceed the minimum standards; and
  • Reinforces ethical hacking as a unique and self-regulating profession.

What's new with CEH v10?

At IT Governance, our CEH trainer practises what he teaches. As an information security professional who has been in the business for years, he shares his experiences. Our CEH course is fast-paced and hands-on. We don’t teach the exam, we focus on giving you the skills necessary to do the work and be a successful ethical hacker. Without the stress of an exam on the final day, all classroom time is focused on introducing new skills and giving you the guidance and practice to enter the industry after passing the exam in your own time.

E-Council iLabs

The EC Council security experts have designed more than 140 labs that mimic real-time scenarios to help you ‘live’ through an attack as if it were real. Also provided is access to more than 2,200 commonly used hacking tools to immerse you in the criminal hacker world.

This five-day classroom training course features:

  • Coverage of historical and current attack vectors to provide a well-rounded education;
  • Exposure to technologies and software tools, and how they can be used in real-life scenarios;
  • Hands-on hacking from day one to the end of the course;
  • Unique post-course support directly with your tutor to answer questions while you study for the exam; and
  • Online access to EC-Council iLabs for six months to improve your skills and continue your ethical hacking education.

The goal of this course is to help you master an ethical hacking methodology that can be used in a penetration testing or ethical hacking situation. You walk out the door with ethical hacking skills that are highly in demand, as well as the internationally recognised Certified Ethical Hacker certification. This course prepares you for EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker exam 312-50.

What will you learn on this course?

  • Ethical hacking methodology.
  • Pre-attach reconnaissance.
  • How to fingerprint and enumerate targets.
  • How to perform network scanning and sniffing.
  • How to perform system vulnerability assessments.
  • How to create attack vectors.
  • Web attacks such as XSS, directory traversals and SQL injection.
  • How to plan and initiate cyber attacks in order to prevent them.
  • How to think like a criminal hacker in order to defeat them.

After the course: The exam

All attendees receive an exam voucher that will allow them to sit the CEH (312-50 (ECC EXAM), 312-50 (VUE)) exam. The exam consists of 125 multiple-choice questions that must be completed in four hours. Please note that the cost of the exam voucher is included in the course purchase price.

Entry requirements

Attendees are expected to have at least two years’ working experience with IT networks and systems. Although there are no prerequisite qualifications, we highly recommend Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) equivalent knowledge.

As the course offers a number of practical labs for hands-on practice, attendees are required to bring their personal electronic device. We recommend bringing laptops, as tablets cannot support full functionality and access to the online labs and exercises. Further information will be provided before attending the course.

After the exam:  Introducing the CEH Practica

The CEH Practical is an optional six-hour, rigorous exam that requires you to demonstrate the application of ethical hacking techniques such as threat vector identification, network scanning, OS detection, vulnerability analysis, system hacking, web app hacking, etc. to solve a security audit challenge.

This is the next step after you have attained the highly-acclaimed Certified Ethical Hacker certification.

Professionals that possess the CEH credential will be able to sit for the exam that will test them to their limits in unearthing vulnerabilities across major operating systems, databases and networks.

You will be given limited time, just like in the real world. The exam was developed by a panel of experienced SMEs and includes 20 real-life scenarios with questions designed to validate essential skills required in the ethical hacking domains as outlined in the CEH programme.

It is not a simulated exam but rather, it mimics a real corporate network through the use of live virtual machines, networks and applications, designed to test your skills. You will be presented with scenarios and will be asked to demonstrate the application of the knowledge acquired in the CEH course to find solutions to real-life challenges.

“Michael was the best instructor to have led this course. I passed the CEH exam with confidence thanks to his style of teaching and supporting. Having been hands-on during the course and then going through the EC-Council material at home provided me with a great set of skills I can now use at my day-to-day job.”
