More delegate places added for the first Cyber Essentials Scheme event as demand exceeds expectations

12/06/2014

IT Governance, the fast-growing cyber security provider, has reported that places for the first event dedicated to the UK Government’s Cyber Essentials Scheme were sold out within a week of announcement. Due to overwhelming demand, IT Governance – the company hosting the event – has added more delegate places for the event on 24 June 2014 at No.2 Royal Mint Court in London. They can be booked here: www.itgovernance.co.uk/shop/p-1572.aspx

Following the official release of the Cyber Essentials Scheme on 5 June 2014 by the UK Government, it was announced that British organisations that meet the scheme’s assessment requirements will be awarded a badge to demonstrate compliance. There will be two levels of compliance: Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus.

It was also announced that from 1 October 2014, the UK Government will require all suppliers bidding for certain contracts assessed as higher risk or which require the handling of sensitive and personal information to be Cyber Essentials certified.

Richard Bach – Assistant Director, Cyber Security at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) – will give a talk on the scheme and its assurance framework. Speakers from IT Governance, BCS, ISACA and SGS will also take part in the event, which is aimed at organisations of all types and sizes.

The IT Governance event team has indicated that the additional places for the ‘Cyber Essentials – The UK Government Scheme to improve cyber security’ event are expected to sell out quickly.

The last few remaining places can be booked here: www.itgovernance.co.uk/shop/p-1572.aspx.
