There will be networking opportunities throughout the day and exhibitors, including IT Governance’s own GDPR experts, who will provide guidance and solutions for GDPR compliance.
imposes key changes to enhance the data protection rights of EU residents. Organisations that process the personal data of EU residents will need to consider the appropriate technical and operational measures set out by the Regulation in order to achieve compliance and reduce the risk of a data breach. This is crucial for those in the public sector that hold sensitive data, such as financial and biometric details of individuals. By law, these particular organisations will be required to appoint a data protection officer (DPO).
The founder and executive chairman of IT Governance, Alan Calder, said that “public sector organisations have a responsibility to improve their underlying security practices and organisational governance to ensure minimal risk of cyber threat.
“The GDPR and the Network and Information Security (NIS) Directive
introduce obligations to deal with information security incidents and report data breaches to the relevant supervisory authority without undue delay. Therefore, organisations will need to be prepared and equipped to deal with incidents.”
