IT Governance partners with 3C Technology to offer guidance on GDPR compliance and Cyber Essentials certification

20/03/2018

IT Governance, the global authority on data protection, risk management and compliance solutions, is delighted to announce a new partnership with 3C Technology, a leading provider of IT hardware, software and support packages, to support organisations with their data protection compliance projects and provide tailored guidance towards stronger cyber security strategies.

From 25 May 2018, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will create a shift in the way organisations collect and process personal data. Failure to comply with the Regulation’s requirements will lead to fines, reputational damage and other penalties.

Alan Calder, founder and executive chairman of IT Governance, said: “We are delighted to partner with 3C Technology to provide resilient compliance solutions to a variety of companies looking to improve their cyber security habits. With the GDPR coming into effect imminently, changing the way companies process and transfer data as well as imposing fines for inappropriately handled data breaches, organisations can no longer ignore the need for an effective compliance plan.

“The GDPR is not just a matter of ticking boxes. It involves extensive technical and organisational changes, including the implementation of staff awareness programmes to minimise the risk of a data breach resulting from human error and making data processors aware of the threats and risks. The complexity of a GDPR compliance project demands tested knowledge and expert guidance, which we are glad to be able to share with a fast-growing IT-solutions provider such as 3C Technology.”

Simon De’Ath, Managing Director of 3C Technology, said: “3C Technology was established in 1991 and we have grown year-on-year, due to the positive impact we make on our client’s businesses. We continually enhance our portfolio of fully managed IT, Cloud, communications and network security services to meet the changing needs of many organisations throughout the UK. Partnering with IT Governance and expanding the reach of these services to be able to offer across-the-board data protection support is an exciting step forward for 3C Technology.”

The GDPR specifies that a company must adopt appropriate technical and organisational controls to ensure compliance. Cyber Essentials certification is a step in the right direction. Organisations of any size wishing to mitigate cyber risks and improve their cyber security posture can achieve CREST-accredited Cyber Essentials certification through IT Governance’s flexible and cost-effective Cyber Essentials packaged solutions.
