IT Governance, the leading provider of cyber security expertise and solutions, is pleased to announce a new series of webinars to help organisations prepare for and tackle their EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance projects.
The GDPR will come into effect on 25 May 2018, leaving all organisations that process the data of EU residents with less than 18 months to meet the stringent requirements of the Regulation.
IT Governance’s series of eight webinars provides an overview of the Regulation, the impact the GDPR can have on organisations worldwide and the practical steps organisations need to take to comply.
The first webinar in the series, “Accountability under the GDPR and what it means for boards and senior management”, will be delivered by IT Governance’s founder and chief executive officer, Alan Calder, at 15:00 (GMT) on 19 January 2017.
The webinar is designed to update senior management and boards about the potential impact of the GDPR on their organisations, and provides an overview of the principle of accountability and what it means, the policies and procedures required under the GDPR, the board’s responsibility to appoint a dedicated data privacy team or DPO, the controller’s responsibility to provide employees with GDPR awareness training, and considerations for conducting data privacy audits and impact assessments.
