IT Governance, the leading provider of cyber security services and ISO 27001 expertise, is pleased to announce a new series of webinars to help organisations prepare for compliance with the newly approved EU General Data Protection Regulation
The new Regulation has significant implications for organisations, such as tough non-compliance fines, strict rules around data breach reporting and specific mandates for data protection officers. Organisations will need to start implementing processes and procedures in line with the Regulation’s requirements now in order to be prepared when the law comes into effect in May 2018.
To help organisations get started, IT Governance has put together a series of six webinars
that promise to provide an overview of the requirements expected to impact most types of businesses and the practical steps organisations need to take to meet the EU GDPR requirements.
The first webinar in the series, “Preparing for the EU GDPR: An introduction
”, will be delivered by IT Governance’s founder and chief executive officer, Alan Calder, at 15:00 BST on 2 June 2016.
The webinar covers an overview of the regulatory landscape and territorial scope, principles of the GDPR, breach notification rules, data subjects’ rights, changes to consent and the role of the data protection officer. The webinar will provide essential information for anyone involved in data protection and compliance.
