IT Governance certifies marketing agency Status to Cyber Essentials

IT Governance, the leading cyber security services provider and CREST-accredited certification body for the UK Government’s Cyber Essentials scheme, has awarded marketing agency Status their Cyber Essentials certificate.
Alan Calder, founder and executive chairman of IT Governance, says, “I am pleased to congratulate Status on achieving certification to Cyber Essentials. This is recognition that the company takes cyber security seriously and demonstrates commitment to protecting their own and their client’s data.”
Graeme Wilkinson (Technical Director, Status) comments, “We are delighted to have achieved this certification in Information Security. As a business Status are committed to providing our clients with the highest level of data protection, and this accreditation clearly demonstrates that focus.”
The Cyber Essentials scheme represents a set of controls and implementation guidance for basic cyber hygiene against which organisations can achieve certification.
The UK Government requires organisations to prove their compliance with the scheme in order to bid for government contracts that involve the handling of sensitive and personal information, and the provision of certain technical products and services. So far, hundreds of organisations have certified to the scheme, including Vodafone, Barclays, Action for Children, ELEXON and Airbus Defence & Space.
A new report by HM Government in conjunction with Marsh also revealed plans to include Cyber Essentials certification in insurers’ risk assessments for SMEs.
IT Governance’s Cyber Essentials Certification service is designed for organisations that do not require external help for completing the self-assessment questionnaire and is available as a convenient online service, CyberComply, which helps organisations to save time and money.
CyberComply is a secure portal where organisations are able to complete the mandatory Cyber Essentials questionnaire and schedule the vulnerability scans mandated by CREST.
