IT Governance adds new dates for ISO 27001 2013 Transition Training Course after a surge in bookings

IT Governance Ltd, the global cyber security services provider, has launched a unique one day ISO 27001 2013 Transition Training Course which is available in a classroom format in the UK and as a live-online version for international delegates. The November classroom session in London became full within few days of its launch. There are now few remaining places available on the next training session on 11th December 2013.
The ISO27001 2013 Certified ISMS Transition training course has been developed to provide an essential ISO27001:2013 knowledge update and practical advice for the implementation and audit of an ISO27001:2013 Information Security Management System (ISMS). It has also been designed to allow existing holders of the IBITGQ ISO27001 Lead Implementer (CIS LI) and Lead Auditor (CIS LA) qualifications to upgrade to the equivalent ‘2013’ certificates.
In September 2013, ISO27001:2005 was replaced by the ISO 27001:2013 standard. With significant structural changes including flexible risk assessment and continuous improvement options, the introduction of the new standard requires a new approach to the training of staff involved in ISO27001 implementation and audit projects.
Alan Calder, Founder and Executive Chairman of IT Governance, explains, “All organisations and information security professionals need to understand the requirements of the new ISO27001:2013 standard. Although the older standard has been replaced, there is as yet no ISO 27001:2013 accredited certification scheme available in the world. In the UK, we estimate that the earliest any UKAS accredited Certification Body will have such a scheme available would be March-April 2014.
“For organisations who are planning an implementation program after this date, it is essential they prepare for a future where certification is based on ISO 27001:2013. This also applies to those who are currently compliant to ISO 27001:2005 and will be required to meet the future requirements of ISO 27001:2013 during regular CAV visits (every 6/12 months) or when they are re-audited after 3 years.”
Calder continues, “In addition to creating a training session that delivers a one-day ISO 27001:2013 update for both implementers and auditors, I am delighted to announce that this course also supports a 2013 upgrade process for delegates who were previously awarded the IBITGQ ISO27001 Certified ISMS Lead Implementer (CIS LI) and IBITGQ ISO27001 Certified ISMS Lead Auditor (CIS LA) certificates. It also accommodates delegates who hold BSI, IRCA, PECB or RABSQA Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor certificates who wish to upgrade to IBITGQ qualifications.”
The ISO27001 2013 Certified ISMS Transition classroom training course is scheduled to run in London on the 11th November 2013 (now fully booked), 11th December 2013 and 27th January 2014. Delegates who successfully complete this Advanced Level course and exam will be awarded the Certified ISMS 2013 Transition (CIS 2013 T) qualification issued by the International Board for IT Governance Qualifications (IBITGQ).
This training session is the newest addition to the ISO27001 Learning Pathway which includes the ISO27001 Certified ISMS Foundation, Lead Implementer, Internal Auditor and Lead Auditor courses. The course is available in a classroom format in the UK or as a live-online version for international delegates.
