IT Governance Ltd
, the leading expert in IT governance, risk and compliance issues, has released a new green paper briefing on Risk Management to ISO31000 – a business-critical activity.
The green paper emphasises the importance of a good risk management
strategy – one that not only helps to avoid adverse events, but also makes managers accountable for decisions that lead to adverse events.
Released in 2009, ISO31000
is the international best practice standard for risk management. It is designed to help risk managers formulate a strategy for the comprehensive and systematic approach to the management of risks for the benefit of stakeholder value.
The standard provides generic guidelines for the design, implementation and maintenance of risk management in organisations, using a consistent approach summarised as ‘Identification, Analysis, Evaluation and Treatment’.
The free ‘green paper’ briefing document is written by respected industry expert and Risk Management consultant, author and trainer Tony Drewitt.
