IT Governance, the cyber security experts and CREST-accredited certification body, is pleased to congratulate technical support specialists Cura Technical
on its successful Cyber Essentials Plus certification.
Alan Calder, the founder and executive chairman of IT Governance, said: “We congratulate Cura Technical on achieving certification to the UK government-backed cyber security scheme, Cyber Essentials Plus. The certification proves that Cura Technical has implemented a solid foundation of cyber security, and that they are committed to protecting their clients’, partners’ and stakeholders’ information assets.”
The Cyber Essentials
scheme is designed to provide organisations with a baseline of cyber security and prevent “around 80% of cyber attacks”. The scheme requires organisations to implement five security controls and offers two levels of certification: Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus. Cyber Essentials Plus is a more advanced level of assurance, and includes an additional internal scan and on-site assessment.
Jason Williams, managing director at Cura Technical, said: “Cura applied for Cyber Essentials Plus as it is now becoming a basic requirement for the work we do in UK Government Agencies on behalf of our manufacturer & system integrator clients. We want our customers to be assured that when they do business with us we are doing everything possible to protect their data, our critical systems and business operations. This also endorses Cura’s policy & ongoing commitment to ensuring the security and protection of our IT and customer systems and online assets.”
The Essex-based company achieved certification to the scheme by opting for IT Governance’s ‘Get A Little Help’ packaged solution. The package includes the certification, external vulnerability scan, on-site assessment, access to the CyberComply online portal, internal vulnerability scan, pre-written documentation templates, and Live Online advice from IT Governance’s experts.
Aaron Foster, the head of IT & MIS at Cura Technical, said: “The whole process of getting certified for Cyber Essentials Plus is not straight forward with complex client systems to cater for. Thankfully we opted to apply through IT Governance Ltd purchasing their CE+ ‘Get A Little Help’ package which allowed us some valuable online consultancy time to ensure we were heading in the right direction and that we were interpreting the questions on our CyberComply portal correctly. Although I knew tightening down and securing the internal infrastructure was not going to be easy, the help and support from the team at ITG, especially from our assessor Daniel Bencens, ensured that the difficult issues were understood first time and resolved quickly.”
IT Governance’s Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus packaged solutions
are designed to equip businesses with the support and tools they need to achieve certification to the scheme.
