CISSP – the essential cyber security qualification

11/06/2013

IT Governance, the global leader in information security training, has reported that the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) qualification is increasingly sought after by senior professionals pursuing a career in information security. With over 30,000 qualified professionals worldwide, CISSP certification demonstrates proven experience and is the key to a higher earning potential in roles that include CISO, CSO and Senior Security Manager.

Alan Calder, CEO of IT Governance, says, “CISSP is an essential cyber security qualification and is often a requirement for the most senior and prestigious information security roles. Naturally the eligibility requirements are strict and the six-hour exam is considered extremely challenging. Therefore, professionals planning to sit the exam need to have a good preparation plan that ideally combines self-study and classroom training”.

The five-day CISSP Accelerated Training Programme in London is one of the few courses that offer a rigorous three phase programme. This includes pre-course knowledge assessment, classroom training and final preparation in the form of online resources and online access to the trainer.

Calder says, “The pre-course CISSP Knowledge Assessment, which is the first phase of the three-phase programme, represents a key benefit to delegates. It is done by the CISSP qualified trainer whose job during the process is to determine the strengths and weaknesses of the delegates’ current knowledge. This enables the trainer to adapt the subsequent classroom training to meet the needs of the individual and the group.”

The next five-day CISSP Accelerated Training Programme takes place on 8-12 July in London. It is currently on special offer at £1,500. Bookings can be made at www.itgovernance.co.uk/shop/p-456.aspx.
