Will you be taking the COBIT 5 Foundation exam in 2014?

With January well underway, most of us will have made our New Year’s resolutions for the year ahead. My own personal goal is to take and pass the COBIT 5 Foundation exam. I have chosen this as my personal goal as I want to learn more about this key IT governance control framework and understand more about its key processes and terminology.

Me being me, I prefer to study when I am away from the office and at time that is convenient to me. With this being the case, I have decided to study for the COBIT 5 Foundation exam using an e-learning course that we offer through the online store here at IT Governance.

The course offers me the flexibility and convenience I am looking for. I won’t have to take time out of the office to study or get distracted by the day-to-day stuff at work. Additionally, I will have access to trainer support via email and the course is fully accredited by APMG (the Official Accreditor). It also offers my employer the additional benefit of there being no travel or subsistence costs and being cheaper than most classroom courses.

COBIT 5 Foundation Training (30 or 60 Day Online Access, Excluding Exam)

If you prefer direct contact with a trainer and learn better in a classroom environment then there are other options available such as attending a classroom-based course.

To aid my study I will read…

  • The official COBIT 5 manual, as published by ISACA, the originators of the COBIT 5 methodology. This should give me the extra knowledge I need to pass the exam and pick up any key points I miss during the course.
  • I will then take the COBIT 5 Foundation exam online having purchased an exam voucher on the IT Governance online store.

In all, I hope to attain the COBIT 5 Foundation certificate by about June, having started my studies in late April.
