Tech Partnership Training Fund – save £500 on the cost of UK cyber security training

TP logoI am pleased to announce that IT Governance’s cyber security training courses now qualify for up to £500 of funding from the Tech Partnership Training Fund. This scheme provides direct grants to employers in order to stimulate increased investment in IT training that further promotes business growth and competitiveness in the UK.

Supported by the government through the Employer Ownership of Skills scheme, the Tech Partnership Training Fund is a key deliverable of the UK Cyber Security Strategy, Objective 4 of which is: “Building the UK’s cross-cutting knowledge, skills and capability to underpin all our cyber security objectives.” Thus far, the government has delivered a wide range of measures that include school and higher education programmes, apprenticeships, research funding and a nationwide Cyber Streetwise awareness campaign.

The Tech Partnership Training Fund support is available to employers who wish to develop the knowledge of their staff in key IT areas of cyber security, big data, mobile computing and cloud computing. It also applicable to training in the development of e-commerce platforms and more traditional IT technologies that include servers, networks and CRM systems.

The Tech Partnership has reviewed the IT Governance cyber security training portfolio and confirmed that the ISO27001 Certified ISMS Lead Implementer, Lead Auditor and Risk Management courses all qualify for funding. They will also support study programmes that provided exam preparation for premier cyber security qualifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISA and CISM.

Employers may apply for up to 50% of the costs of training, to a maximum of £500 per learner for strategic skills short courses. These courses must be delivered in England, be a minimum of three days’ duration and have additional self-study requirements. To qualify for the scheme, organisations must ensure that the training meets their business objectives and include the strategically important skills areas listed above.
