Investment to boost number of IT-skilled people in Europe

IT skills shortage

At a time of high unemployment across Europe, the European Commission has launched a “grand coalition” to address the region’s IT skills shortage.

The Commission released figures showing there will be 900,000 IT-related vacancies by 2015 in Europe. Although the number of “digital jobs” is growing by about 100,000 every year, the number of skilled IT graduates is failing to keep pace.

This has perhaps become more apparent in recent years, due to the high number of European businesses going online, and the increasing number of cyber attacks.

In order to boost the number of skilled people in IT, the European Commission will invest €1 million into the coalition, offering training initiatives and investment in start-ups.

Gain industry standard qualifications

If you want to jump on the bandwagon of  gaining IT skills, then book on to our ISO27001 Certified ISMS Lead Implementer Online course. Designed to provide comprehensive and practical coverage  of implementing and maintaining the requirements for ISO27001, this course delivers a recognised industry-standard qualification awarded by the IBITGQ.

ISO27001 is the world’s only cyber security standard to develop an organisation’s Information Security Management System (ISMS). This course will enable you to spearhead your organisation’s ISO27001 project, push through the required changes and new procedures, making sure certification is gained first time around.

As Europe becomes more cyber aware, organisations are implementing the requirements of ISO27001, meaning this qualification is becoming increasingly sought after.

Delivered in a unique online format, you can study anywhere in the world – which means no travel costs or nights away from home. These are fully interactive courses where you will taught directly by Alan Calder – leading author and co-implementer of the world’s first BS7799-compliant ISMS (the forerunner of ISO27001).
