The Indian Government has said at the 3rd Worldwide Cybersecurity Summit that they need to invest $200 million over the next 4 years to create the necessary infrastructure to protect India against cyber threats.
With a population of over 1.2 billion, Telecom and IT Minister Kapil Sibal fears cyber crime would have more effect on India than any other country in the world.
In addition to this investment, cyber security experts stress that localised protection of businesses would help stop the threat of cyber crime. The Indian Information Technology Act has stated those companies that have implemented ISO 27001 will be deemed compliant with best practice.
ISO 27001 is the world’s only cyber security standard, and is used internationally.
If you would like to achieve ISO 27001 certification, or produce an Information Security Management System (ISMS) in line with ISO 27001, then download the Standalone ISO 27001 ISMS Documentation Toolkit.
