The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) takes effect on 25 May 2018. Although organisations have been given plenty of warning, many are struggling to find qualified professionals to oversee their compliance project.
Our GDPR Report found that more than half of respondents don’t have enough qualified staff, and an International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) white paper published in 2016 claimed that the Regulation will create a demand for 75,000 data protection officers (DPOs).
To fill these positions, organisations are offering generous salaries and encouraging employees to gain GDPR qualifications. ITJobsWatch claims that the average salary for some GDPR-related jobs, including DPOs, is as high as £60,000 a year.
Our products and services, including GDPR training courses, can help you fill these positions.
How does training help?
The GDPR brings substantial changes to the way organisations must handle EU residents’ personal data. To ensure effective compliance, all organisations affected by the Regulation need to have managers who are equipped to plan, implement and maintain a compliance programme. Some organisations will need to appoint a DPO.
Our GDPR Foundation and GDPR Practitioner training courses offer a structured learning path to equip data protection professionals, information security professionals and those who are looking to enter the field with the specialist knowledge and skills needed to deliver GDPR compliance and fulfil the role of DPO.
