In the current economic climate, implementing business continuity (BC) plans is no longer a matter of a want. It’s the case of a need.
BC plans should be seen as a vital element for any business nowadays. Unfortunately, there are still many companies out there that are failing to recognise just how essential business continuity plans are in the protection of their corporate assets.
According to the survey, which was commissioned by CA Technologies and conducted in May by a research firm, Coleman Parkes, 95 percent of organisations experienced data loss in the last 12 months ending May, with 74 percent pointing to IT systems failure as the biggest cause, while 42 percent pointed to external attacks and 37 percent to IT and human error.
The following study polled 1,086 respondents from both small and midsize business (SMBs) and large organisations across eight countries in Asia: Singapore, Australia, China, India, Malaysia, South Korea, Thailand and Taiwan. The enterprises were from four vertical sectors: finance, public sector, retail and manufacturing.
