Are you considering CRISC – the best professional certification award?

If you have 3+ years experience in risk management and information systems control, it is definitely worth considering adding ISACA’s CRISC certification to your CV.

Earlier this year CRISC (Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control) picked up SC Magazine’s ‘Best Professional Certification Award’. In response to this award, ISACA’s Chair of Credentialing and Career Management highlighted why this certification is proving to be very popular:

“Employers are looking for candidates with the CRISC credential as proof of a strong background in risk and control, and employees are seeking the credential to differentiate themselves and boost their value to their organizations.”

Take these Steps to gain CRISC Certification

Step #1 Register with ISACA for the CRISC exam that will take place on 14 December 2013. You can save on your registration fee by registering before the 21 August. Registration must be done via the ISACA website.

Step #2 Swot up on the five CRISC domains:

  • Domain 1 – Risk Identification, Assessment and Evaluation
  • Domain 2 – Risk Response
  • Domain 3 – Risk Monitoring
  • Domain 4 – Information Systems Control Design and Implementation
  • Domain 5 – IS Control Monitoring and Maintenance

ISACA publish CRISC study manuals to support you through this step and they include over 200 practice exam questions that will help to identify any gaps in your knowledge.

Step #3 To increase your chances of exam success you may choose to top-up your self-study efforts with an intensive CRISC preparation course a few weeks prior to sitting the exam.

Step #4 Take the exam at one of ISACA’s exam centres (currently London, Manchester and Birmingham for the UK, plus many more worldwide).

Step #5 Relax – the hard work is behind you. Once you’ve passed the exam, you have to apply to ISACA for your CRISC certification. This requires evidence of at least 3 years of experience in risk management and information systems control experience, across a minimum of 3 of the CRISC domains.

After that, it’s time to dust off your CV and see where CRISC takes you!
