The Introduction of COBIT version 5 - status update

The precise approach and content of COBIT 5 is currently under development by ISACA, and will hopefully go live early in 2012; training will be available later in 2012 with dates still to be finalised.

Training paths being considered will include additional certificates and a formal assessor certification.

We at IT Governance Ltd, plan to offer foundation, implementation and assessment-level training in COBIT 5, readying the delegate for the official ISACA examination.

ISACA are considering if there will be a transition course from COBIT 4.1 to COBIT 5, as COBIT 5 is significantly different – there should be an announcement on this shortly!

However, IT Governance will be offering COBIT 5 seminar days to familiarise the holders of COBIT 4.1 with new syllabus, as soon as it is released by ISACA - in advance of the full COBIT 5 training courses being launched.

Until COBIT 5 is fully understood and embraced,

ISACA will continue to support COBIT 4.1.

Pre-requisites:

There are no formal pre-requisites but it is recommended that delegates should have some understanding of IT Governance.

  • The exam is taken during the afternoon of the last day of the course.
  • The exam board do not alllow non-English speakers/readers any extra time to sit the exam
