ISO27001 - ISO27001 - ISO/IEC 27001 - Information Security Standard - ISMS Requirements

Official Title: ISO/IEC 27001:2005 (Information technology - Security techniques - Information Security Management Systems - Requirements). This standard, in the UK, is dual numbered BS 7799-2:2005.

From October 2005, ISO 27001 replaced BS7799-2:2002 as THE international information security management systems standard. Thereafter, ISO 27001 is the standard against which an ISMS must be certified, and it's the standard that increasingly organizations will use to demonstrate regulatory compliance and effective business risk management.
